What is the Primary Sports Premium?
This is a Government Grant that must be used to fund improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils so that they develop healthy and active lifestyles.
How much did the school receive?
In 2021- 2022 the school received £19,520

Key outcomes
- Our current Year 6 cohort, 90% met all of the swimming National Curriculum requirements when they completed their swimming course in Autumn 2021.
- Inter-school competitions have restarted since the pandemic and many children were given the opportunity to participate. The school scored highly in both football and cricket, with children receiving both a medal and a trophy
- High levels of enjoyment and participation through the PE curriculum as well as high quality PE lessons delivered
- ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ themed week introduced external coaches to lead sporting sessions and additional workshops with Years 5 and 6
- Pupils participated in an enriched curriculum with a range of opportunities to engage in high quality lessons and extra-curricular activities
- Increased subject knowledge of staff on how to deliver engaging lessons as well as monitor and offer further support to less-active children
- Increased subject lead confidence on how best to support physical activity, particularly addressing the return to school after the covid pandemic
- Week long Cycling Proficiency course for year 6 pupils
- Effective assessment ensures gaps in attainment and progress are addressed
- Increased staff confidence to lead extra-curricular activities and in-house competitions
- Nominations made for virtual sportsman/ woman of the year awards
How we will sustain outcomes achieved
- Continuous monitoring of PE within the school and regular evaluations
- Assess and monitor children’s progress, particular attention paid to the less active children
- Continue staff training and CPD
- Continued partnerships with outside agencies/ competitions
- Conduct teacher and pupil surveys

Intended outcomes
- Introduction of new PE scheme and ensure it is rolled out efficiently with staff being confident in delivering engaging and active session
- Staff confident in using the assessment criteria to monitor their class’ progress
- Pupils participate in an enriched curriculum with a range of opportunities to engage in high quality lessons and extra-curricular activities
- Continue to provide opportunities for girls to be more active and engage in a wider range of sports, with a particular focus on football
- High level of children able to swim 25 metres or more due to new swimming rota
- Increased subject knowledge of staff to ensure they deliver engaging lessons
- Effective assessment ensures gaps in attainment and progress are addressed
- The school accesses local sports competitions run by Islington and Maamulaha network
- Healthy schools award reviewed and awarded
