Arrangements for December

Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding yesterday’s school closure. As a school, we will always prioritise keeping the school open for the children to partake in learning in person, but yesterday we were left with no choice but to close due to transport issues for staff as well as safety issues on site. We hope your children enjoyed the opportunity to explore outdoor learning and that you didn’t worry too much about completing the work set on Google Classroom.

I just wanted to inform you of a few changes to the school this week due to a number of factors but namely the RMT strikes combined with the snow:

School start time and the school day

For the remainder of this week, school start time will be at 8.45am with the registers closing at 9.15am. This is to accommodate commuters affected by the lack of transport options into school.

The children will not be accessing the playgrounds or football pitch until the ice has melted.
Please continue to send them in with a change of footwear and if possible say goodbye to them at the gate.

We have cleared a footpath through the playground which has also been gritted.
Normal collection procedures will be in force but extra care is required.

After school club

This will close for all pupils at 5pm, tonight, tomorrow and Thursday. This is to allow staff the extra time to travel home.
Please only use this service if you have to as outdoor facilities have been closed.
