Racial Justice, Equality and Diversity (RJED)
At St. Joan of Arc School, our commitment to Racial Justice, Equality and Diversity (RJED) stems from our mission statement:

Our Catholic identity shapes every aspect of school life. Rooted in the Gospel and the teachings of the Church, we believe that:
- Every person is created in the image and likeness of God
- Every person deserves respect and has inherent dignity, worth and purpose.
- Diversity enriches our community, learning and experiences.
- Racism contradicts the Gospel and our mission statement and must be addressed.
We embed the principles of RJED into every aspect of our operations and culture.

We ensure that:
- The curriculum reflects diverse voices, histories and cultures.
- RE, PSHE, History, English and Art include representative content.
- Catholic Social Teaching is embedded across subjects.
- Pupils learn about justice, dignity, equality and solidarity.
- Diverse pupil voice is central through our pupil leadership teams – House Captains, Sports Captains, Wellbeing
- Ambassadors, Librarians, Mini Vinnies, Eco Team, Digital Leaders
- Children explored images of Mary from different cultures, recognising that the Mother of God is honoured by people of every nation and ethnicity.
- Celebrating our diversity through school events – St. Joan of Arc Day, International Evening, Christmas Fayre, Summer Fete, World Book Day
